In collaboration, authorship often becomes co-authorship – shared ownership not just of the outcome, but of the process by which it was reached, distributed across everyone who shaped it rather than claimed by any one party. Co-authorship asks us to recognize and honor each participant’s agency. This is one distinguishing feature from conflict, where authorship is usually held or contested separately.
