To navigate, literally, is to shoot a bearing between your current position and a desired future position. A bearing is a line with a number on it, such as 90o or three o\u2019clock \u2013 which would be your direction of travel. To navigate at work is to determine the direction you want to take something \u2013 a task, project, assignment, team, client relationship. Something you intend to move from a current undesired condition to a future desired condition.
